Dr. Michael Koehn is an expert for Artificial Intelligence. He was a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Society in Potsdam, gaining a scientific understanding of machine learning and mathematical optimization. He held a senior position at a major AI consulting firm before starting Koehn AI in 2019. He is a pioneering expert for Linux server administration and cloud computing, and an expert for the major programming, scripting and database query languages.
Dr. Dennis Müller holds a PhD in theoretical physics from HU Berlin and received the prestigious Humboldt Prize for his dissertation. He specializes in data-driven modeling, optimization, and predictive analytics, with a strong foundation in mathematical and physical principles. Known for his analytical rigor and technical depth, Dennis consistently delivers robust, trustworthy solutions in complex environments. He combines both theoretical insight and hands-on experience with electronics and engineering.
Dr. David Winnekens is the Lead Consultant at Koehn AI and a specialist for time-series forecasting and supply-chain optimization. He studied physics at the University of Cambridge and the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, where he also completed his doctorate.

Dr. Souvik Banerjee specializes on mathematical optimization and the transfer of science to industry. After receiving his PhD in Mathematical Physics, he worked at the Van Swinderen Institute at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands and Uppsala University in Sweden. From 2019 to 2021 he worked as a Humboldt Fellow at the University of Würzburg. Recognized for his excellence in teaching skills, he was appointed as a Lecturer in Theoretical Physics at the University of Würzburg in 2021 and filled his role until joining Koehn AI. He specializes in mathematical modelling and database development.
Dr. José Diogo Simão earned his PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, receiving the Friedrich Hund prize for best thesis in fundamental research. Since working at Koehn AI, José has worked on predictive maintenance and forecasting projects. He brings deep mathematical and technical knowledge, from which he derives deep modeling insight, along with scientific outreach experience.
Dr. Sayantani Lahiri specializes in mathematical optimization for the energy sector via Python. She received her doctorate in 2015 from Jadavpur University in Kolkata, specializing in higher dimensional theories of gravity and cosmology. She held postdoctoral positions at the Universities of Bremen, Frankfurt and Würzburg before joining Koehn AI as AI consultant. She specializes in model development and visualization.
Dr. Robert Seeger earned his degree in physics from the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. His theoretical physics background provides him with strong analytical skills and a structured approach to solving complex problems. He also has experience with advanced theoretical frameworks, which enables him to quickly adapt to new concepts and deliver innovative solutions. Additionally, his expertise in scientific research and writing ensures clarity and efficiency when communicating technical content to clients.
Dr. Andrew Wiszniewski received his doctorate for his work on biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Western Australia. Since joining Koehn AI in 2023, he worked on different forecasting and prediction projects as well as neural network applications for drug discovery. With his background in systems biology and bioinformatics, he is an expert for statistical methods and the processing of large datasets from scientific experiments.
Dr. Peter Bourgonje received his doctorate for research on computational linguistics from the University of Potsdam. He worked as a researcher for natural-language processing at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence in Berlin and for a number of companies as a machine-translation and linguistics expert. He is a guest researcher at the Discourse Research Lab of the University of Potsdam.
João is a seasoned Cloud and Software Engineer with deep expertise in scalable Cloud solutions. At Koehn AI, he focuses on large-scale Cloud infrastructure, following roles at Körber Pharma where he helped build a SaaS platform, and Hapag-Lloyd, where he developed Cloud software to support ML/AI-driven operations.
Paul Scheurmann-Kettner is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in computer science at TU Berlin. As a passionate infrastructure engineer and system administrator, he is executing the advancement of the IT infrastructure at Koehn AI and also supports with strategic planning with the goal of ensuring smooth operations for a growing number of colleagues. He is experienced in Linux server and network administration as well as IT security.
With a passion for bridging technology and business, Mrinal Thakuri previously worked as a Global Technical Engineer, assisting in planning entry into new markets by assessing technical feasibility and aligning solutions. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration and Engineering at HTW Berlin while engaging with clients and strategic partners to support business development and provide pre-sales support at Koehn AI.
Anastasia holds a diploma in physics from the Lomonosov University in Moscow. Before joining Koehn AI in 2023 as project manager, she managed the production of documentary films where amongst other awards she received a Grimme-Preis nomination.
